Melting and Alloy Preparation

Description: The steel casting production process begins with the melting of raw materials, such as scrap steel, and various alloying elements, in an induction furnace at high temperatures. During this stage, the steel is liquefied, and alloying elements are added to achieve the desired chemical composition. The induction furnace operates using electricity, ensuring energy efficiency while providing precise control over the chemical composition.

Molding and Casting:

Once the molten iron reaches the proper chemical composition, it is poured into pre-prepared sand molds to create the desired shape. These molds are precisely designed to ensure that the final product meets the required dimensions and tolerances. The molten iron fills the mold cavity and begins to solidify as it cools. During cooling, the carbon in the alloy precipitates out as graphite flakes, which give gray cast iron its characteristic gray color and enhance its mechanical properties.

Cooling and Finishing:

Once the iron has solidified, the molds are broken to reveal the castings. These castings undergo a series of finishing operations, including cleaning, machining, and inspection. The cooling process is carefully controlled to prevent defects such as shrinkage or cracking. Finally, the castings are machined to the required final dimensions and surface finish, and once they meet all specifications, they are shipped to the customer.
